The Porsche 997, which appeared in dealerships in 2004, is the sixth generation of the Porsche 911. It is also the most successful 911 since in the third quarter of 2007, 100,000 units were sold. The Carrera and Carrera S coupes appeared in July 2004, followed a few months later by their convertible versions. The Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S four-wheel drive versions were released in November 2005, followed by the 911 sunroofs Targa 4 and Targa 4S, and the GT3, GT3 RS and Turbo sport versions in 2006 while the 997 GT2, the most popular powerful, did not appear until 2007.At the end of 2008, Porsche made substantial changes to the 997 range, including aesthetic and, above all, mechanical adjustments: the increase in engine displacement in all versions, or, in some versions, the adoption of direct injection of or the introduction of the new robotic gearbox (PDK) are the major examples.
